Zero Energy Home
Features: Passive solar design, super insulated exterior walls and attic, large thermal
storage which is heated during the summer to 150 degrees by solar and used during the winter. Thermal storage can be
recharge during the winter on sunny days. Solar domestic hot water, photovoltaic system, wind turbine ( approval by
City of Pine Island), super high performance windows, LifeBreath Clean Air Furnace using solar thermal, gray water toilet
flushing systems, delta high efficiency shower heads, and induction cooktop.
This home is under construction. The ICF
foundation is in as well as the infloor heating, thermal storage tank, basement floor with under slab plumbing ,floor
trusses and backfilled. The roof trusses are installed. I should be roofing soon.
Previous
home was quite similar without the large thermal storage and using a high efficiency natural gas furnace.
